Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, March 30, 1984 at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Russell Matson

Russell Stanley Matson, the son of August and Emily Alfreda (Anderson) Matson, was born at Osceola, Nebraska, on March 24, 1911, and passed away at Omaha, Nebraska, on March 27, 1984, at the age of 73 years and 3 days.

In 1917, his family moved to a farm in Monroe Precinct, and in 1919 they moved to a farm at the west edge of Aurora.

He received his education in the Aurora Schools and he graduated with the class of 1928.

On February 25, 1934, he was united in marriage to Mabel Anderson at Hampton, Nebraska. They lived on a farm northwest of Aurora for 30 years, and in 1964, they moved into Aurora, where he was a real estate broker for the Aurora State Company, until his retirement in 1977.

Russ was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aurora, the Aurora Lions Club, and the Aurora Masonic Lodge #68 AF & AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Georgia Matson and Myrtle Jones and a brother, Delmer Matson.

Those who remain to cherish his passing are his wife Mabel and other relatives and close friends.
