Don Maw

Don Maw, age 84, of Giltner, died Friday, February 22, 2008, at Bryan/LGH East in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, February 26th at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Revs. Marta Wheeler and Paul Nauman will officiate. Interment will be in the Giltner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Family will receive friends from 5 – 7. OBITUARY: DON MAW

Don Roger Maw, the son of Wilber E. and Lydia Grace (Springer) Maw, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on February 18, 1924 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on February 22, 2008, at the age of 84.

Don grew up in Giltner and graduated from Giltner High School.

Don was united in marriage to Ramona M. Nelson on January 17, 1946. They had two children, Jim and Carlla. Don farmed in the Giltner area. He worked for Hamilton County for over 25 years, most of those years were spent in the Noxious Weed Department.

Don was a member of the Giltner United Methodist Church. Don was an avid wood worker and liked to take care of his yard and garden. He especially liked to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Keith and Dean Maw.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Ramona Maw of Giltner; two children, James (Kathy) Maw of Grand Island and Carlla (Dennis) Eastman of Giltner; 5 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Maw of Texas; three sisters, Eileen Chaney, Cherie Ott and Marlene Henthorn all of Aurora.
