Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 31, 1979 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held at Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Homer D. Maynard

Homer D. Maynard was born at Silver Point, Tennessee on June 28, 1907. He was the son of LaFayette and Sarah Watson Maynard. His death occurred at Aurora, Nebraska on March 29, 1979 at the age of 71 years 9 months and 1 day.

He came with his parents to Fremont, Nebraska as a young man.

On March 2, 1936 he was united in marriage to Constance Rogers at Fremont, Nebraska. His work as Section Foreman for the Chicago-Northwestern Railroad meant being transferred to several locations in Nebraska and the family had made their home in Fremont, Wahoo, Beaver Crossing, Davenport and Geneva, where they were residing at the time of his retirement in 1969. In 1975, they came to Aurora, where they have since resided.

Mr. Maynard was a member of the United Methodist Faith.

His parents, five brothers and four sisters had preceded him in death.

Those who survive are his wife, Constance; their two daughters and their husbands, Celesta and Ervin Griess and Betty and Dan Porkorney all of Aurora; one brother, Solon Maynard of Wahoo, Nebraska, one sister Mrs. Myra Watson of Fremont, Nebraska, six grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and close friends.
