Anna McIntosh

Anna McIntosh, age 103, of Aurora died Saturday, December 26, 2009, at Memorial Community Care.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, December 29th at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Revs. Karl Larson and Bill Stearns will officiate. Interment will be in the Mamre Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: ANNA MCINTOSH

Anna Louise McIntosh, the daughter of Alfred and Amanda (Anderson) Sanderson, was born at Marquette, Nebraska on December 21, 1906 and died at Aurora, Nebraska on December 26, 2009, at the age of 103.

She grew up on the farm near Marquette. Anna completed grade school and then was needed at home to help raise her brothers and sisters.

On February 11, 1930, she was united in marriage to Clifton ‘Benny’ McIntosh at the County Courthouse in Aurora. They farmed all of their married life in the Marquette area. Benny passed away on May 12, 2000.

Anna attended Mamre Church, where she was involved in the Ladies Aide and Bible Study Group. She participated in a Bible Study group even after moving to East Park Villa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 6 brothers, 2 sisters and a niece and nephew that were raised by her parents.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her daughter, Marilyn (Al) Hoegh of Crossville, Tennessee; 2 grandsons, Douglas (Alicia) Hoegh of Broomfield, Colorado and David (Jean) Hoegh of Dade City, Florida; 2 great-granddaughters, Jeanne and Rylie. Anna is also survived by a brother, John Sanderson and 3 sisters, Algene Hopkins, Selma Thomsen and Dorothy Retzlaff.
