Lester McVey

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, May 12, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Stockham Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Lester McVey

Lester Edward McVey, the son of James and Nana (Sheen) McVey, was born at Sutton, Nebraska, on October 15, 1917, and passed away at Rosamond, California, on May 6, 1988, at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 21 days.

He grew up southeast of Stockham, where he attended country school, and graduated from Stockham High School. He then moved to California, and during his college career he entered the National Guard, and later enlisted in the Regular Army. He retired after 20 years of service as a Master Sergeant, then he worked for the Department of Corrections as a supply officer, and later worked for the State Board of Equalization in Sacrament, and retired in 1971.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Mary.

He is survived by his wife Doris of Lodi, California; 2 sons, Mike McVey and Peter McVey, both of Gault, California; 2 daughters, Nora Robbins of Glendale, Washington and Nena Palmer of Crescent City, California; 3 brothers, Delmar of Omaha, Arlo of Tucson, Arizona and Chester of Tehachapi, California; and 2 sisters, Mildred Ross of Aurora and Viola Hicks of Reed Point, Montana and 6 grandchildren.
