Kathryn MerschFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 29, 1979 at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Interment was held at Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Mrs. Kathryn Mersch Kathryn M. Mersch, the daughter of Heio and Anne Egge Emken, was born near Aurora, Nebraska on November 24, 1903. Her death occurred at Aurora on June 26, 1979, following a short illness at the age of 75 years 7 months and 2 days. Her entire lifetime was spent in Hamilton County. She was educated in the rural school near her parent’s home and then attended the Aurora High School; she attended Midland College in Fremont and then taught in the Rural School System of Hamilton County, until the time of her marriage. On November 23, 1927 she was united in marriage to Fred J. Mersch at the home of her parents near Aurora. They farmed Southwest of Aurora for forty years and then retired in January of 1968 and moved into Aurora. Her husband preceded her in death on November 9, 1970. The Mersch family were longtime members of the Prairie Gem United Brethren Church southwest of Aurora until that church was destroyed by fire. She was now a member of the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Besides her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son, Ralph Duane Mersch in 1942, her parents, one brother and one sister. Her survivors are her two daughters, Rom and her husband, Donald Lovegrove of Waverly, Nebraska and Alma and her husband, Richard Hlavaty of Hastings, Nebraska; seven grandchildren, Dona, Daniel and Douglas Lovegrove all of Waverly and Connie, Susan, Carla and Janet Hlavaty all of Hastings, Nebraska and other relatives and many close friends. |
