Arnold Mick

Arnold Mick, age 90, of Aurora, died Sunday, July 15, 2007, at his home.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M. Thursday, July 19th at the Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Randall Smith will officiate. Interment will be in Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. The family will greet friends from 5 – 8. OBITUARY: ARNOLD MICK

Arnold Frederick Mick, the son of William and Johanna (Nunnenkamp) Mick, was born on the family farm in Hamilton County, Nebraska on January 15, 1917 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on July 15, 2007, at the age of 90.

He grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the 8th grade. Arnold completed his high school education through correspondence courses. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II, he was honorably discharged in 1944.

Arnold was united in marriage to Naomi Lee Adams on February 11, 1945. He farmed in Hamilton County his entire life. They retired into Aurora in 1981, although Arnold still helped out on the farm. Naomi passed away on June 18, 2001.

Arnold kept himself busy with his hobbies of painting and his many flower gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and infant son, Robert Kent Mick.

Those left to cherish his memory are his eight daughters, Kathy McConnell and her husband Walter of Aurora, Carmen Chandler of Cedar Creek, Sharon Wrightson and her husband Tom of Fremont, Regina Mick of Aurora, Marilyn Wolff and her husband Jerry of Caldwell, Idaho, Lori Hofmann and her husband Fred of Sutton, Bonnie Henzel and her husband Vince of Lincoln and Sandra Pokorny and her husband Roy of Katy, Texas; one son, Thomas Mick of Beatrice; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
