Bonnie Miller

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, May 10, 1993 at the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Bonnie Miller

Bonnie Rogene Miller, the daughter of Ray and Corda (Dixon) Guilford, was born at Marquette, Nebraska, on November 16, 1925, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on May 7, 1993, at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 12 days.

She grew up at Marquette, and graduated from Marquette High School with the class of 1943. Following graduation she was employed at the Post Office in Grand Island.

On August 11, 1946, she was united in marriage to Harlow Newman. Three children were born to this union.

From 1962 to 1971 she ran Bonnie’s Fashion Shop in Aurora, and was also a bookkeeper for Eckerson Equipment, Kissel Plumbing, and Coast to Coast.

On January 7, 1972, she married Harold Miller.

Bonnie was a member of the Aurora Presbyterian United Church of Christ, and helped organize the first chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Laureate-Nu Chapter, in Aurora, which has grown into 6 chapters with 98 members in our community. She was a member of P.E.O., Eastern Star, and the American Contract Bridge League. She was an avid bridge player, and was a member of several local bridge groups.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Merlin Guilford and Wayne Huston.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Harold of Aurora; 2 sons, Mike Newman and his wife Patty of Aurora, Jeff Newman and his wife Lynda of Lincoln, and her daughter Gail O’Connor and her husband Bill of Sussex, Wisconsin; 3 step-daughters, Linda Vetter of Omaha, Kate Reeve of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, and Sue Springer of Kearney; 2 brothers, Murry Guilford of Normangee, Texas, and Gene Guilford of Janzen, 11 grandchildren, Trey, Brian, and Todd O’Connor; Rachel and Chase Newman; Brett and Amy Vetter; Lori and Mike Reeve; and Sarah and Matthew Springer, and many close friends and relatives.
