OBITUARY: Emil Miller

Emil Miller, the son of John and Margaret Miller, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, on March 25, 1912, and passed away at his home in Aurora, Nebraska, on December 19, 1990, at the age of 78 years, 8 months, and 24 days.

He attended Champ Country School near Stockham, and later worked as a farm hand. He served in the United States Navy from April 7, 1936 to March 22, 1940.

On June 22, 1940, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Piggot, at Yuma, Arizona. They lived in California, where he worked for Johns-Manville, and later Douglas Aircraft. In 1942, they moved to a farm near Stockham for several years, and then moved to Aurora, where he worked for the Telephone Company and later as a carpenter with Maurice Miller. He had been retired for the last several years.

Emil was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Ed and Alfred, and one granddaughter.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Sylvia of Aurora; 2 daughters, Emily Saylors and Eunice Miller, both of San Antonio, Texas; 2 brothers, Kenneth of Columbus and Roy of Aurora; 2 sisters, Pauline McConaughey and Tena Schaffert, both of Aurora; 4 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
