Jack MillerFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 18, 1994 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: “Jack” Miller John Henry “Jack” Miller, the son of Peter H. and Edna (Koehler) Miller, was born on a farm 8 miles south of Aurora, on November 6, 1927, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 16, 1994, at the age of 67 years, and 10 days. He attended Harvard High School and graduated with the class of 1945. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on February 16, 1945, and served until December 16, 1947. After his discharge he attended Hastings College for 2 years, and then began farming 8 miles south of Aurora. On August 13, 1960, he was united in marriage to Shirley (Weeks) Von Housen, at Aurora. They had 3 children. In 1980, he began working for the Hamilton County road department, and worked there until his health failed. Jack was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, and belonged to the Lester S. Harter Post #42, of the Aurora American Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one step-son Roger Von Housen. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Shirley of Aurora; 2 sons, Mike of Norfolk and Kevin of Omaha; one step-son Jim Von Housen of Grand Island; a daughter Theresa Perry of Norfolk; 3 brothers, Harold of Clay Center, Alvin of Grand Island, and Don of Aurora; one sister Virginia Church of Clarks; 2 grand daughters, Chelesa Von Housen and Jesie Micay |
