Robert Miller

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 5, 1993 at the Giltner United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Robert Miller

Robert Dean Miller, the son of John A. and Nellie ( Boag) Miller, was born at Stockham, Nebraska, n July 7, 1924, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on February 2, 1993, at the age of 68 years, 6 months, and 25 days.

He grew up at Stockham, an attended Aurora Public Schools, and then farmed with his father. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1945 to 1947, and after his discharge he continued to farm.

On May 27, 1945, he was united in marriage to Vivian Larsen at Aurora.

Bob was employed at the Giltner Co-op Elevator, and operated a grocery store, and was park caretaker for 11 years. He was also a school bus driver for 13 years, and enjoyed kids of all ages.

He attended the Giltner United Methodist Church, and was a charter member of the Giltner Lions Club.

His love of woodworking was shared with his family and friends, and he was also an avid card player.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Catherine, and 2 brothers, Maurice and Grant.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Vivian of Giltner; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen and Kay of El Paso, Texas, Brian and Shirl of Severn, Maryland, Kevin and Jolene of Ft. Detrick, Maryland; a daughter and son-in-law, Janie and Bernard Murphy of Broken Bow, 2 sisters, Dorothy Hohnstein of Aurora, and Betty Itts of Lakewood, California; 12 grandchildren, and a special “little” friend, Shanael Joyce, and many nieces and nephews.
