Rosie Miller

Rosie Miller, age 67, of Aurora, died Wednesday, December 8, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, December 11th at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Rev. Seth Leypoldt will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: ROSELLA MILLER

Rosella Ann Miller, the daughter of Herbert George and Anna Margaret (Kornelson) Jantzen, was born in Henderson, Nebraska on September 28, 1937 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 8, 2004, at the age of 67.

She grew up in Aurora, where she attended school. Rosie graduated from Aurora High School in 1955. Rosie worked for Frank Edgerton and Harold Powell at the Fidelity Building in Aurora as a legal secretary until her marriage.

On August 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Vernon Henry 'Tunny' Miller at Aurora. They farmed near Stockham. Rosie was a professional baker, she was known throughout the area for her cake decorating. They moved to Aurora, when they retired from farming.

Rosie was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church, the V.W.W. Extension Club, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. Rosie worked at the Memorial Hospital Thrift Store and for many fundraising activities throughout the community.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Vernon H. 'Tunny' Miller of Aurora; two daughters, Sherry Ann Thacker of Mt. Oarb, Ohio and Debora Jo Miller of York ; 3 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and a sister, Esther Blattner of Aurora.
