Joe Millsap

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 22, 1991 at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Joe W. Millsap

Joe W. Millsap, the son of Joseph and Emma (Watkins) Millsap, was born at Newton, Iowa, on February 29, 1904, and passed away at York, Nebraska, on April 10, 1991, at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 20 days.

He attended schools at Giltner and graduated from Phillips High School in 1922.

On April 8, 1925, he was united in marriage to Irene Killion. She preceded him in death on September 23, 1957. One daughter was born to this union.

Joe was involved in farming, and later was a seed corn salesman. He was a longtime member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, and was Past Master of Keystone Lodge #62, A.F. & A.M., and also belonged to the Eastern Star. He had also served on the Phillips School Board, and was active in ARC, where he was a coach for 9 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 4 brothers, Charles, Earl, Ray and Lee, and a younger sister Mary.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathie Maree Millsap, of Aurora; one brother Lyle of California; 2 sisters, Anna of Aurora, and Verla Collins of Sandston, Virginia, sisters-in-law, including Hazel Killion of Aurora; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
