Eldred MowitzFuneral Services were held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, January 16, 1988 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery. OBITUARY: Eldred Mowitz Eldred Otto Mowitz, the son of Otto and Dorathea (Klinker) Mowitz, was born at Omaha, Nebraska, on August 31, 1925, and passed away at Central City, Nebraska, on January 13, 1988, at the age of 62 years, 4 months, and 12 days. He grew up in the Hampton area, and attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School, and graduated from the Hordville High School. He also attended the University of Minnesota Ag College. Form 1943 to 1946 he served in the U.S. Navy Seabees, returning to Hampton to farm after the war. On September 9, 1946, he was united in marriage to Carol May Schow at Blomkest, Minnesota. They farmed in the Hampton area. Eldred was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where he had held various church offices. He had been a 4-H leader, and was a member of the Hampton Legion. He was preceded in death by his parents. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Carol; 4 sons, Brian and Eric both of Polk, Jim of Lincoln, and Dave of Des Moines, Iowa; one daughter Marlaine Mowitz of Greeley, Colorado; a sister Ruth Hurst of Hampton and 6 grandchildren. |
