Maurine Nelson

Maurine Nelson, age 77, of Aurora, died Monday, April 12, 2010 at Bryan/LGH East in Lincoln.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Friday, April 16th at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Dr. F. Cole Fowler will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5 -7. OBITUARY: MAURINE NELSON

Maurine Nelson, the daughter of Soren and Mabel (Nelsen) Nelson, was born in Aurora, Nebraska on April 16, 1932 and died in Lincoln, Nebraska on April 12, 2010, at the age of 77.

She grew up and attended school in Aurora. Maurine began her working career at the Aurora Hospital. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working until her retirement at Memorial Hospital in Aurora as a surgical nurse. Maurine was honored in 1993 with the Health Care Professional Award from the Aurora Chamber of Commerce.

Maurine was a member of Aurora United Methodist. She enjoyed attending and participating in activities at the Senior Center

She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, John Wycoff and brother-in-law, Bob Wycoff.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Michael (Gail) Nelson of Aurora; sister, Ruth Wycoff of Aurora; 3 granddaughters, Amber (Brad) Parker, Rebecca (Tim) Graham and Angela (Joe) Burson all of Aurora; 7 great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Dylan & Wyatt Parker, Ethan & Tegan Burson and Peyton & Andrew Graham and niece, Chris Wycoff of Grand Island.
