OBITUARY: Robert W. Nichols

Robert W. Nichols, 69, of Boise, died Sunday, March 21 at his home of natural causes.

Robert was born May 15, 1923 in Denver, Colorado to Bill and Lila Treffery Nichols. He grew up in Colorado. Robert joined the U.S. Navy during World War II. Robert and Shirley Otto were married in Coeur d’Lene, Idaho while he was stationed there during the war. They lived in Colorado and Robert worked for the Mountain Bell Telephone Company for 35 years. He retired at the age of 55 and they moved to Medord, Oregon then to Widby Island, Washington and 2 years ago to Boise, Idaho.

Mr. Nichols was a man of many talents. He built a house in Steamboat, Colorado, he loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Otto Nichols of Boise; two sons, Thom of Boise and Terry of Denver; a sister, Lois Pettis of Grants Pass, Oregon; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
