Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 6, 1983 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Benjamin Nielsen

Benjamin Nielsen, the son of Rasmus and Johanna Emelia Nielsen, was born in Hamilton County, Nebraska, on January 2, 1900, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 3, 1983, at the age of 83 years, 7 months and 1 day.

His entire lifetime was spent in Hamilton County and he received his education in Aurora and the Grand Island Business College.

On March 12, 1926, he was united in marriage to Zoe Tull, at Aurora, Nebraska.

He was a member of the Danish Church north of Hampton, and after his marriage he joined the Aurora Methodist Church. He was a member of the Boy Scout Council and the Aurora Lions Club.

He started farming with his father and continued in that business after his father died. He was also a bee keeper and a cabinet maker. He and his wife Zoe wrote for a number of magazines on wood crafting projects. He was also in the construction business with his sons Bob and Don, and retired at age 65.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter Betty Nielsen; 2 sons, Robert and Donald; 2 brothers, Joseph and Levi; 5 sisters, Helen Newman; Hanna Madsen, Maggie Madsen, Sarah Stewart and Christine Djernes.

Those who survive to cherish his memory are his wife Zoe; one sister Julia Fleeck of Wichita, Kansas and other relatives, close friends and business associates.
