Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 29, 1994 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Marvin Nielsen

Marvin Eugene Nielsen, the son of Alvin and Sylvia (Rasmussen) Nielsen, was born at Nysted, Nebraska, on September 3, 1936, and died at Hastings, Nebraska, on August 25, 1994, at the age of 57 years, 11 months, and 23 days.

He attended school at Dannebrog, and when his parents moved to Hamilton County, he attended school in Phillips and graduated from Aurora High School in 1953.

On February 8, 1958, he was united in marriage to Lois Greenwood at Grand Island. In 1958, he started farming, and in 1959, he also started his own trucking business which he operated until 1976. He continued farming north of Aurora until 1982, when he went back into the trucking business in York. On August 31, 1979, he married Barbara Ann McDaniel at McCook, Nebraska, and they resided in York for the past several years.

While living in Aurora, Marvin was a member and past vice-president of the Chamber of Commerce, and was past-president of the Aurora Country Club.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Barbara of York; 2 sons, Dale and his wife Sherri of Brainard, and Kent of Randolph; 3 daughters, Dianne Adkisson and her husband Ken, Carol and Kathy Nielsen all of Lincoln; a step-son Ken Killion and his wife Lori of York, and a step-daughter Karen Killion of Bowie, Texas; a brother Jim of Aurora; 2 sisters Lila Doll and her husband Ivan of Gering and Betty Olson and her husband Kenny of Arvada, Colorado; his mother Sylvia Nielsen of Aurora; 10 grandchildren, Jordan, Brittany, Jessica, Micah, Sam, Luke, Katlynn, Kody, Logan, and Landon.
