Victor Nilson

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 12, 1986 at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Victor Nilson

Victor Rudolph Nilson, the son of Aaron Erick and Hulda Mathilda (Erickson) Nilson, was born at Marquette, Nebraska, on October 26, 1891, and passed away at Omaha, Nebraska, on July 10, 1986, at the age of 94 years, 8 months, and 14 days.

Most of his lifetime was spent in the vicinity of Marquette, where he received his education and was engaged in farming.

During World War I he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1917 to 1919. Following his discharge he returned to the Marquette vicinity.

On July 30, 1923, he was united in marriage to Lola Phoebie Bogseth at Ericson, Nebraska. Four sons were born to them. The Nilson’s farmed for several years before retiring, and on retiring they continued to reside on the farm until 1983, when they moved to Omaha, where they have since resided.

He was a long time member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Aurora, and was active in Church Affairs. He was also a member of the Lester S. Harter Post No. 42 of the American Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and one sister.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Lola; 4 sons, Rev. Robert Nilson of Lincoln, Dr. Erick Nilson of Manhattan, Kansas, Dr. Lyle Nilson of Omaha and Mark Nilson of Warr Acres, Oklahoma; one brother, Arthur Nilson of Marquette; 5 sisters, Mrs. Lydia Magnuson and Mrs. Edith Hansen both of Aurora, Mrs. Hannah Hansen of Hampton, Miss Artha Nilson of Lincoln and Mrs. Hulda Nolan of Omaha. 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
