Wilma O'Brien

Wilma O達rien, age 84, of Aurora died Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, January 13th at the First Christian Church in Aurora. Rev. Sam Fox will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: WILMA O達RIEN

Wilma Ocee O達rien, the daughter of Wilhelm (Bill) and Elizabeth (Feuerstein) Ott, was born on a farm near Henderson, Nebraska on November 1, 1922 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 9, 2007, at the age of 84.

She grew up in Henderson and attended Country School. Wilma worked at the Ordinance Plant in Grand Island.

Wilma was united in marriage to Robert (Bob) M. O達rien on May 10, 1950 at Aurora. When Abbott痴 Dairy closed in 1982, Bob bought his route and equipment. Bob and Wilma went into business for themselves, running O達rien Distributors. Bob passed away on April 27, 2004.

Wilma was an active member of the Aurora First Christian Church. She was a volunteer at the Plainsman Museum, where she was very involved in the genealogical research and giving tours. Wilma was also a volunteer at the Hospital Thrift Shop and when her children were growing up, she was involved in both Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother, Orville Ott.

Those left to cherish her memory are her three children, William O達rien of Aurora, Dixie (Paul) Mooney of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Christina Doyle of Aurora; 4 grandchildren, Larry Wilson, Jr. of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Denise (Dave) Beyer of Oskaloosa, Iowa, Chad Engert of Edina, Minnesota and Rachel Tomasek; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Marvin (Leola) Ott of Aurora; sisters, Evelyn Maw and DoLores Ellyett both of Aurora; brother-in-law, Jack O達rien of Aurora; Aunt Hazel Rein of Aurora and numerous nieces and nephews.
