Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, February 19, 1996 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Ralph Olson

Ralph D. Olson, the son of Lawrence and Alby (Peterson) Olson, was born at Leland, Illinois, on February 19, 1907, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on February 14, 1996 at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 25 days.

At an early age his family moved to Aurora, where he graduated from high school.

On June 9, 1928, he was united in marriage to Iola Lucile Matthews, at Lincoln, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on February 15, 1991. They resided in Aurora, and in 1984, they moved to Lincoln to be near their daughter.

Ralph owned his own insurance agency in Aurora for many years. He was a member of the Aurora First Christian Church, had belonged to the Aurora Lions Club and was a past president. He was a member of the Aurora Volunteer Fire Department, and had served as chief for several years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and 2 brothers, Howard and Merle.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his daughter Shirley Maddox and her husband Gerald of Lincoln; one grandson, Tom Maddox, one granddaughter, Laurie Phares; and 3 great grandchildren, Karl, Amy and Abby.
