Funeral Services were held 3:00 P.M., Friday, November 6, 1987 at West Monroe Evangelical Free Church. Interment was held in the Monroe Church Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Rachel Olson

Rachel Olson, the daughter of William and Ruth (Swanson) Westlund, was born at Polk, Nebraska, on May 31, 1926, and passed away at Denver, Colorado, on November 1, 1987, at the age of 61 years, 5 months, and 1 day.

Rachel was united in marriage to Rev. Vernon Olson on November 25, 1948 at Little Falls, Minnesota.

She was a R.N. at Mounds Midway Hospital at St. Paul, Minnesota. Following their marriage she helped her husband as he pastored churches in Iowa, Illinois, South Dakota, Texas and Colorado.

She served on the local, state and national boards of the Free Church Women’s Ministries. Rachel was manager of the Western College Bookstore in Denver, Colorado for several years.

Rachel was a member of the Southern Gables Evangelical Free Church in Denver.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Marvin Westlund, sister, Eleanor Arnquist, and daughter Glennis.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Rev. Vernon Olson; sons, Robert of Denver, Colorado, Rohn of Dallas, Texas, Rick of Denver, Colorado, and Marshall of Denver, Colorado; daughter, Lorrie Lindgren of Denver, Colorado; brothers, Lester Westlund of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Stanley Westlund of Pleasanton, California; sisters, Mildred Smith of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Marian (Stanley) Gustafson of Phillips and Dorothy Barrett of Rapid City, South Dakota; mother, Ruth Westlund of Minneapolis, Minnesota and 9 grandchildren.
