Wilma OlsonWilma Olson, age 86, of Aurora died Tuesday, May 16, 2000 at Memorial Long Term Care. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday at the United Methodist Church in Aurora. Dr. Joe Scahill will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. Thursday at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: WILMA OLSON Wilma C. Olson, the daughter of Claude A. and Rosa (Luthy) Sims was born on a farm near Phillips, Nebraska on June 8, 1913, and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on May 16, 2000, at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 8 days. She grew up on a farm near Phillips and graduated from Phillips High School. Wilma worked for an airplane factory in Los Angeles during World War II. After the war, she returned to Aurora and worked at Farmer’s State Bank for many years. Wilma was united in marriage to Chester Olson on August 7, 1938 at her parent’s home near Phillips. They began farming north of Aurora. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Women’s Circles and the American Legion Auxiliary. Wilma was a member of several Bridge clubs. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and sister, Bernice Hoffmaster. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Dr. Gerald Olson and his wife Jane of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter, Ingrid Gill and her husband Hugh of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Melvin Sims and Cecil Sims of Aurora. |
