Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, March 4, 1997 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner. Interment was held in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Giltner, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Richard Ormond

Richard Patrick Ormond, Jr., the son of Richard and Mary (Hannen) Ormond, was born on the farmplace southeast of Giltner, Nebraska, on April 26, 1911, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 1, 1997, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 5 days.

He attended Franklin Country School through the 8th grade, and then went to Giltner High School.

On April 7, 1953, he was united in holy matrimony to Theresa Schwarz at Granville, Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 12, 1993.

He lived on the home place all his life, and was employed at Grosshans Lumber Company in Aurora, Third City Livestock Commission Company in Grand Island, Aurora Livestock Company in Aurora, and Western Sugar Beet Company in Grand Island.

Richard was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner, was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, and had served as a trustee and care taker of St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Giltner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother James, an infant brother John and an infant sister Margaret.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his two sons, Patrick of Harvard and Dennis of Granville, Iowa; one brother David of Santa Barbara, California; and 2 sisters, Johanna Sandberg of Aurora, and Mary McMahon of Bethany, Missouri.
