Daryle Osborne

Daryle Osborne, age 79, of Phillips, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 8th at the Phillips United Methodist Church. Rev. Marta Wheeler will officiate. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. Friday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 – 7. The Masonic and Eastern Star Rites will be at 7:00. OBITUARY: DARYLE OSBORNE

Daryle LaVerne Osborne, the son of Elton Clare and Opal Mae (Keller) Osborne, was born in Sutton, Nebraska on July 12, 1930 and died in Rochester, Minnesota on April 28, 2010, at the age of 79.

He grew up in the Harvard area, graduating from Harvard High School Class of 1947.

On September 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Glova Gay Billings. Daryle worked for Redman Industries three years in Grand Island. He then went to work for Bonnavilla Homes in Aurora for 30 years before retiring in 1995.

Daryle was a member of the Phillips United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, the Keystone Lodge #63 A.F. & A.M. for 45 years, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #204 and Platte Deutsche. His passion was woodworking, but he also enjoyed bowling and playing cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, baby brother and older sister, Melva Jean.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Glova Osborne of Phillips; four children, Bradley (Mary) Osborne of Henryetta, OK, Keri (Tony) Anderson of Alma, Glenna (Bruce) Dorn of Beatrice and Tamera (Lance) Zach of Wakarusa, Kansas; 14 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren. He is also survived by his two sisters, Barbara Osborne-Linder of Colorado and Sandra Hahn of Weeping Water; two brothers, Joel Osborne of California and Lowell Osborne of Arizona, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.
