Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, January 6, 1984 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: John Oswald

John C. Oswald was born at Morton, Illinois on January 13, 1884. He passed on to be with the Lord on January 3, 1984, at the age of 99 years, 11 months and 20 days. His parents were John Kennel Oswald and Verena Roth Oswald.

When a small lad, he came with his parents and brothers and sisters to a farm five miles west of Aurora, Nebraska. He attended Aurora College and farmed in this area until his retirement. O

On August 7, 1912, he was united in marriage to Sue S. Schenck. Four children were born to them: Earl J., Dorothy, Bessie and John J.

He was a lifetime member of the Pleasant View Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Troyer and Bessie Springer of Aurora, 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one brother, Carl.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two sons, Earl J. and John Jr., and six brothers and seven sisters.
