Lillian Oswald

Lillian Oswald, age 73, of Aurora, died Sunday, January 27, 2008, at University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, January 31st at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Rick Prettyman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7. OBITUARY: LILLIAN OSWALD

Lillian Delores Oswald, the daughter of Lester Alton and Susie Alice (Bignell) Johnson, was born in North Bend, Nebraska on January 27, 1935 and died in Omaha, Nebraska on January 27, 2008, at the age of 73.

Lillian graduated from Aurora High School in 1953.

Lillian was married to Louis ‘Buzz’ Oswald on June 21, 1953. They lived on a farm west of Aurora, where they raised their two daughters. After her family was raised Lillian worked at Hamilton Manor for several years during the 80’s.

Lillian was a member of Pleasant View Bible Church and the Women’s Ministries. She enjoyed painting, gardening and crocheting.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two granddaughters, Shawn Rae Oswald and Amber Donn Lightwine.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband, Louis ‘Buzz’ Oswald of Aurora; two daughters, Cindi (John) DeVeney of Giltner and Marilyn (Steve) Lightwine of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 4 grandchildren, Eric (Lisa) Smith, Joel Smith, Aaron Lightwine and Ashley Lightwine; 3 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Jordan and Colby Smith; three sisters, Polley (Ed) Olivera of San Carlos, CA, Susan (Ron) Sipe of San Antonio, TX and Christina (Jack) Robertshaw of Aurora and two brothers, Don (Barbara) Johnson of Littleton, CO and James (Naomi) Johnson of Ralston.
