Helen Otto
Helen Otto, age 77, of Aurora, died Friday afternoon, June 6, 2003, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, June 10th at St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church in Grand Island. Fr. Phil Flott will officiate. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 P.M. Monday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora, with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aurora. OBITUARY: HELEN OTTO Helen Agnes Otto, the daughter of August Peter and Anna Johanna (Pedersen) Zimmerman, was born in St. Edward, Nebraska on March 27, 1926 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on June 6, 2003, at the age of 77. She grew up in St. Edward and graduated from St. Edward High School. Helen graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Grand Island. She worked in Lincoln at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for two years. Helen was united in marriage to Roger C Otto on August 20, 1947 at St. Edward. They lived in the Phillips area. Helen became a Charge Nurse at Hamilton Manor for 23 years, before she retired. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral Catholic Church in Grand Island. She enjoyed playing cards, raising flowers, music, her children and grandchildren, and traveling. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Harold Zimmerman. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Roger C Otto of Aurora; four children, Kathryn "Kat" Otto of Grand Island, Barbara "BJ" Meyer and her husband Robert of Aurora, Mark Otto and his wife Becky of Phillips and Patricia Topham of Grand Island; three grandchildren, Aaron Otto of Arlington, Virginia, Ann Otto and Alex Otto both of Manhattan, Kansas. She is also survived by a sister, Clara Cumming and her husband Don of Genoa and special friend Father Don Larmore. |
