Frances Paben

Frances Paben, age 86, of Hampton died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, October 24th at the United Lutheran Church in Hampton. Rev. Chris Kester-Beyer will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 P.M. Sunday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: FRANCES PABEN

Frances Mae Paben, the daughter of Admiral and Ellen (Nelson) Knerr, was born in Stromsburg, Nebraska on October 23, 1918 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on October 19, 2005, at the age of 86.

She attended both grade and high school in Stromsburg.

On February 27, 1936 she married Ervin Paben at Osceola. They lived on the Paben family farm northeast of Hampton. As a farm wife she loved cooking and keeping an immaculate house. In February of 1993 she became a resident of Hamilton Manor in Aurora, where she resided until her death. Ervin passed away on November 15, 1996.

Frances was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Hampton and the Eastern Star Lodge in Polk. She also enjoyed bowling for many years in Aurora both on a singles team and also with Ervin in a doubles league. She loved reading mystery novels especially of the western variety.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three sisters and four brothers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her one daughter, Twila (Bill) McCracken of Omaha and one son, Ervin "Butch"(Karen) Paben of Columbus; one sister, Bettie Casella of Sunnyside, Utah; 4 grandchildren, Lauren (Mark) Herring of Omaha, Troy (Lisa) Paben of Columbus, Lisa (Tim) Larson of Beaver Lake and Kristen (Rodney) Griess of Lincoln and 9 great-grandchildren, Jordan, Logan, and Ethan Paben; Sara and Jenna Herring; Paige and Camille Larson; and Jaelynn and Justine Griess.
