Raymond ParpartFuneral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 15, 1992 at Zion Lutheran Church north of Hampton. Interment was held in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery. OBITUARY: Raymond Parpart Raymond William Parpart, the son of Henry and Alma (Hankel) Parpart, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on January 31, 1909, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on May 12, 1992, at the age of 83 years, 3 months, and 11 days. He grew up on a farm near Hampton and attended 8 years parochial school at the Zion Lutheran Church, and received his 9th and 10th grade education at the Hampton Public Country School. He then began farming with his father, until his marriage. On March 3, 1935, he was united in marriage to Anna Driewer, at Zion Lutheran Church, and they moved 2 miles west of the home place and farmed there for 5 years, and then returned to the home place which has been in the family for over 100 years. He also did carpentry work with his father and brother, and in 1983, he and his brother built their present home in Hampton. Raymond was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was baptized, confirmed and married. He held various church offices, where he was an usher, trustee, Sunday School teacher, treasurer, Evangelism Chairman, and served on the school board. He also belonged to the Lutheran Layman’s League, was a member of the Hampton Lion’s Club, and served on the Hampton Co-op board of directors. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Selma Woolley. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Anna of Hampton; 2 daughters, Juline Bonderson of La Mesa, California and Luree Wiese of Lincoln; one brother Arthur of York and one granddaughter Anne Bonderson of La Mesa, California. |
