Marie Parsley
Marie Parsley, age 76, of Hampton, died Tuesday, January 1, 2008, at her home in Hampton. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, January 4th at Higby-McQuiston Chapel in Aurora. Rev. Loren Cooper will officiate. Interment will be in the Hampton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 P.M. OBITUARY: ALICE MARIE PARSLEY Alice Marie Parsley, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Mitchell) Chadwell, was born at East Chicago, Indiana on October 25, 1931 and died in Hampton, Nebraska on January 1, 2008, at the age of 76. She grew up in London, Kentucky, and graduated from London High School. Following high school she attended Sue Bennett College in London, Kentucky where she earned her Associates Degree. She then attended Kearney State College where she earned her Bachelors Degree in Education. Marie was united in marriage to Robert Ray Parsley on December 23,1950, at Jellico, Tennessee. They were married 56 years. While raising her children she taught 6th grade at Doniphan, 3rd grade at Lewiston, and 5th grade at Aurora for a total of 25 years. Marie enjoyed spending time and taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She tutored students in various school subjects and she especially enjoyed taking in children throughout her life who needed a caring home. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ray on December 8, 2007, brother, Bill Chadwell, and an infant granddaughter, Randi Lynn. Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons, Robert Ray (Bob) Jr. and his wife Kathy of Rising City, Gary Lynn of Hampton, James Darrell and his wife Barb and Myron Dean and his wife Holly all of Lincoln; three daughters, Joyce Ann Martin and her husband Ron, Debra Kay Joseph and her husband Jerl and Karen Lee Gaughen and her husband Pat all of Hampton; 18 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Johnson and Lois Chadwell. |
