Ed PaveyFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, September 24, 1993 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Giltner. Interment was held in the Giltner Cemetery. OBITUARY: Ed Pavey Arthur Edward Pavey, the son of Delbert “Vic” and Rachel (Strange) Pavey, was born at Livonia, Indiana, on February 9, 1916, and died at Grand Island, Nebraska, on September 20, 1993, at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 11 days. He grew up and attended country schools near Giltner, and graduated from Giltner High School in 1933. In 1939, he married Margaret Herzog at Harvard, Nebraska. They lived in Wyoming for a year and then farmed near Giltner. They moved into Giltner in 1960, and he became Acting Postmaster of Giltner in 1963, and Postmaster in 1965. Her served until July 3, 1986. Ed was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, at Giltner, belonged to the Holy Name Society, and served on the church board. He was a charter member of the Giltner Lions Club, and had served on the school board. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one grandson, Michael Happold. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife, Margaret; one son Ronald and his wife Mary Kay; 3 daughters, Barbara Killham and her husband Milford, Marilyn Happold and her husband James, Grace Fry and her husband William; one brother John of Sun City, Arizona; one sister June Leiser and her husband Keith; 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. |
