Maysel PedersenFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, June 17, 1994 at the Seward United Methodist Church in Seward, Nebraska. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Maysel Pedersen Maysel Irene Pedersen, the daughter of William and Charlotte (Blades) Shaneyfelt, was born at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 2, 1910, and died at Lincoln, Nebraska, on June 14, 1994, at the age of 84 years, 3 months, and 12 days. She grew up and received her education in Aurora, and graduated from Aurora High School with the class of 1931. After graduation she worked as a dental assistant. On January 30, 1935, she was united in marriage to Hilbert Pedersen. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1954. After their marriage they moved to Grand Island, and in 1944 they moved to North Platte. In 1959, she moved to Octavia and worked in the Schuyler Welfare office as a case worker, and in 1962, she moved to Seward and was Director of Social Services for Seward County, until her retirement in 1980. Maysel was an active member of the Seward United Methodist Church, and a social member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Lincoln. She was a valued participant in many church functions. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Dean, and 2 sisters, Betty Vetter, and an infant sister Isabel. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Stephen of Seward; one daughter Crystal Varvel of Lincoln; a brother Joe Shaneyfelt of St. George, Kansas; 2 sisters, Aleen Gleason of Seward, and Doris Vetter of Aurora; 2 grandchildren, Lance Naderhoff of Lincoln and Stena Varvel of Lincoln. |
