Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 8, 1990 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the E.M.B. Cemetery south of Henderson, Nebraska.

OBITUARY: Ruth Penner

Ruth Ivern Penner, the daughter of Peter and Jessie (Cox) Newman, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on July 4, 1912, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on January 5, 1990, at the age of 77 years, 6 months, and 1 day.

She grew up and attended school at Hampton.

On September 16, 1930, she was united in marriage to Cornelius I. Penner, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1975.

They lived in Hampton, Henderson and the York area, and in 1942, they moved to Aurora, where she has since resided. She worked at the Beebe nursing home for a short while.

Ruth was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter Audrey in infancy, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are 3 sons, Stanley of Dallas, Texas, Stanford of DuPont, Colorado, and Robert of Aurora. 3 daughters, Virginia Williams of Omaha, and Verna Bludworth and Phyllis Kreiger both of Boise, Idaho; one sister, Ardith Getzcher of Long Beach, California; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
