Fay PerryFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 6, 1996 at the Aurora First Christian Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Fay Perry Fay M. Perry, the son of Giles and Amanda Elva (Killion) Perry, was born at Phillips, Nebraska, on March 4, 1914, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 2, 1996, at the age of 82 years, 4 months, and 28 days. He grew up and received his education at Phillips. On December 4, 1936, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Wingard, at Aurora. She preceded him in death on June 28, 1994. They farmed north of Aurora all of their married life. Fay was known as the “Pumpkin Man”, as he always raised a bounty of pumpkins and displayed them at the farm on highway #14. He was also very active at the Plainsman Museum, and had built many scale models of the buildings around the square in Aurora, including the courthouse, now displayed at the museum. Fay was a long time and faithful member of the Aurora First Christian Church, had served as deacon, and took part in various building projects. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Melvin, and his twin brother Ray; one sister Ethel Perry, and his daughter Ruth Schultz. Those who remain to cherish his memory are her son Ron and his wife Karen of Aurora; 5 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. |
