Dietrich Peters

Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Friday, September 20, 1991 at the Aurora Pleasant View Bible Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Dietrich Peters

Dietrich E. Peters, the son of Dietrich D. and Elizabeth (Klaassen) Peters, was born at Windom, Minnesota, on September 14, 1900, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on September 17, 1991, at the age of 91 years and 3 days.

He grew up and attended country school near Windom.

On September 30, 1926, he was united in marriage to Emma Epp, at her parent’s home near Henderson, Nebraska. They lived in Minnesota for a year before moving to a farm south of Aurora, where they lived on the same farm for 40 years. Emma preceded him in death on August 4, 1981.

He served on the country school board and the church board. He also served on the Weed District Board, and the Federal Land Bank Board, and was a DeKalb Seed Corn Dealer. After retiring from the farm he also worked for Grosshans Lumber Company in Aurora.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one great grandchild, 2 brothers, and 5 sisters.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his 4 sons, Marvin of Henderson, Wilbur and Delmar of Aurora and Victor of Denver, Colorado; 2 daughters, Erma Goertzen of Marquette, and Loretta Peters of Delano, California; 3 sisters, Susie Peters of Mt. Lake, Minnesota, Helen Merritt of St. Cloud, Minnesota, and Anna Epp of Henderson; 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law, Linda Peters of Worthington, Minnesota and Rosie Peters of Windom, Minnesota, and other relatives and close friends.
