Rev. Herbert Peters

Funeral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, November 5, 1990 at Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Pleasant View Cemetery southwest of Aurora.

OBITUARY: Rev. Herbert A. Peters

The Reverend Herbert A. Peters, the son of Abraham D. and Sarah (Wall) Peters, was born near Henderson, Nebraska, in York County, on August 30, 1900, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 1, 1990, at the age of 90 years, 2 months, and 1 day.

He started grade school in Litchfield, but later attended school in Henderson. After high school, he attended Moody Bible Institute. After graduation from Moody he served in jail ministries in Chicago as well as worked with the Moody Memorial Church Tract League, and also filled pulpits in various places.

On November 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Viola Welty, at Bluffton, Ohio.

After marriage he served as pastor in an Independent Bible Church in Lima, Ohio, and later in Avon, South Dakota. After retirement he served as interim pastor in six churches in the Hamilton County area.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, David, Isaac, and George, and one sister, Eva Kliewer.

He is survived by his wife Viola of Aurora; one brother Deitrich of Arizona and 4 nieces and 5 nephews.
