Robert Pheigaru

Funeral Services were held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 31, 1995 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Interment was held in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Robert Pheigaru

Robert Dale Pheigaru, the son of Vincent and Laura (Oleson) Pheigaru, was born in Boone County, Nebraska, on March 1, 1931, and died at the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Grand Island on May 28, 1995, at the age of 64 years, 2 months, and 27 days.

He received his first years of schooling in Primrose, and graduated from Albion High School in 1948. He worked as a grocery clerk until he served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army, from November 13, 1951, until his discharge on September 30, 1953. Following his discharge he was employed as a meat market manager in Elgin, Neligh, Central City, and Aurora, where he was employed at Baehr’s Red & White. For the past 32 years, he had resided in Aurora.

On February 7, 1956, he was united in holy matrimony to Bonita Scholl at Albion, Nebraska.

Bob was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora, and belonged to the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Aurora American Legion, the V.F.W. and a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He was a sports enthusiast, was an avid bowler, and belonged to the Aurora Bowling Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Brandon Dale Widga.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Bonnie of Aurora; 3 sons, Jim and his wife Joni of Houston, Texas, Tom of Lincoln, and Michael and his wife Lori of Lawrence, Kansas; 3 daughters, Karen Scherer and her husband Gary of Central City, Diane O’Nele and her husband Greg of Kansas City, Kansas, and Linda Ortiz and her husband Chris of Grand Junction, Colorado; and 6 grandchildren.
