Florence PickinpaughFlorence Pickinpaugh, age 81, of Aurora, died Saturday, December 30, 2000, at the Memorial Long Term Care in Aurora. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 3, 2001 at the Assembly of God Church. Rev. James Garfield will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: FLORENCE PICKINPAUGH Florence Maxine Pickinpaugh, the daughter of Fredrick William and Frieda Clara (Elitz) Dieckmann, was born in Giltner, Nebraska on April 12, 1919 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on December 30, 2000, at the age of 81 years, 8 months and 18 days. She grew up on a farm near Giltner. She graduated from Giltner High School and beauty school in Hastings, where she worked at a beauty shop following graduation. Florence was united in marriage to Emmett Pickinpaugh at Hastings on April 13, 1941. They farmed near Giltner, until 1958, when they moved to Aurora. She sold Avon for many years. Emmett passed away on January 17, 1979. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. Florence enjoyed camping with friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roger, daughter Linda Gray, granddaughter, Laura Pickinpaugh, three infant brothers and two brothers, Albert and Clarence and a sister, Margie Dieckmann. Survivors include her six grandchildren, Rick Pickinpaugh of Columbus, Angela Kirschner of Jensen Beach, FL, Becky Isham of Baker City, OR, Carmen Pickinpaugh of Davenport, IA, Tonya Lohman of Billings, MT and Brian Gray of Lincoln; 15 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruby Dieckmann of Aurora; daughter-in-law, Sandy Pickinpaugh of Albion and many nieces and nephews. |
