Dennis PohlGraveside Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, May 11, 1998 at the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Dennis Pohl Dennis Dale Pohl, the son of Carl and Bernice (Dadey) Pohl, was born at Grand Island, Nebraska, on July 9, 1948, and died at Kearney, Nebraska, on May 7, 1998, at the age of 49 years, 9 months, and 28 days. His family lived in Phillips, where he attended school, until they moved to Aurora, where he graduated from Aurora High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1972. After his discharge he returned to Aurora and was employed at Baehr’s Red & White, later Super Foods, and also worked on farms for Bob Jensen and Bob Asher. On November 18, 1989, he was united in marriage to Cindy Glinsmann at Aurora. After their marriage they moved to Grand Island, where he worked for several grocery stores, and two years ago they moved to Kearney, where he was employed at Grand Central IGA store. Dennis was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Aurora, and attended Zion Lutheran Church in Kearney. He was also a member of the Aurora V.F.W. and Legion Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother Daryl. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Cindy of Kearney; two sons Collin and Nicholas both at home; two brothers, Dondald of North Glen, Colorado, and Gerald of Aurora; three sisters, Delores Pohl of Aurora, Carol Kaiser of Grand Island, and Connie Larkin of Doniphan. |
