Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, March 22, 1994 at the Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Martin Pohl

Martin Erich Pohl, the son of Frederick and Hulda (Marquardt) Pohl, was born at Bededict, Nebraska, on October 3, 1907, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on March 19, 1994, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 16 days.

He grew up near Bededict and attended Bededict and Thayer Schools.

On September 6, 1936, he was united in marriage to Lillian Ryder at Hampton. She preceded him in death on September 18, 1993. After their marriage they farmed in the Thayer and Aurora area, and after retiring they moved to Giltner where he enjoyed his gardening. For the past few years, he has resided at the Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Martin was a member of the Aurora First Evangelical Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lillian, 3 brothers, Edward, August an Ted; and one sister Lorena Otte.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his brother Ivan of Lexington; 2 sisters, Rose Reetz of Crete, and Martha Tonniges of York, and nieces and nephews and other relatives.
