Howard Purdy

Funeral Services were held 1:30 P.M., Monday, November 24, 1986 at Higby Mortuary. Interment was held in the Phillips Cemetery.

OBITUARY: Howard Purdy

Howard B. Purdy, the son of Elias and Sadie (Bauder) Purdy, was born at Phillips, Nebraska, on November 10, 1899, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on November 21, 1986, at the age of 87 years and 11 days.

He attended Phillips schools and farmed in Hamilton County.

On October 7, 1922, he was united in marriage to Mabel Fern Hooker, at Grand Island. She preceded him in death on November 8, 1980.

In 1965, he retired and moved into Aurora, and after retirement he worked part time for Stuchlik Realty for a few years. For the past year and a half he had resided at the Hamilton Manor.

Howard was a member of the Aurora United Methodist Church and belonged to the Aurora Senior Citizens Group.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers, Charles, Everette and Raymond; 3 half-brothers, Rollie, Frank and Clarence; two sisters, Eva England and Myrtle Wadkins; and 2 half-sisters, Lula Bierbower and Hattie Baker.

Those who remain to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Alta Mae Larsen of Hastings and Elsie Roemmich of Grand Island, and one brother, Alvin of Phillips; 6 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
