Dorothy QuickFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, August 14, 1995 at Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville. Interment was held in the Hordville Cemetery. OBITUARY: Dorothy Quick Dorothy Ethel Quick, the daughter of Henry and Purle (Donelson) Knutson, was born near Hordville, Nebraska, on June 23, 1915, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on August 10, 1995, at the age of 80 years, 1 month, and 17 days. She grew up and received her education near Hordville and graduated from Hordville High School with the class of 1933. She attended Luther College at Wahoo, Nebraska in 1934, and later taught country school. On June 18, 1936, she was united in marriage to Donald Quick at Omaha, Nebraska. After their marriage they moved to Sidney, Montana, which they called home until 1947, when they returned to the Hordville Community to operate the family farm 2 miles west of Hordville. In 1975, they retired and moved to their present home in Aurora. Don preceded her in death on January 16, 1984. Dorothy was an active member of the Fridhem Lutheran Church in Hordville, belonged to the L.C.W. and served in various offices. She also served on the Hordville school board. She was an active bridge player and golfer, and had played a round of golf the day she died. She enjoyed her winter vacations to Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother Harvey. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her son Richard Quick of Valentine; her daughter Jan Messman and her husband Ron of Aurora; 2 brothers, Roy Knutson and his wife Nadine of Central City, and Roger Knutson and his wife Ila Jean of Elkhorn; one sister Joan Benson and her husband Floyd of Des Moines, Iowa; 2 grandchildren, and many other relatives and close friends. |
