Ruby Darline Rath

Ruby Darline Rath, age 89, of Aurora, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, March 3rd at Harvard Church of Christ. Viewing will begin at the church on Wednesday at 9:00 A.M. Pastor David Johnson will officiate. Interment will be at Harvard Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. OBITUARY: RUBY DARLINE RATH

Ruby Darline Rath, the daughter of Orval and Myrtle Olive (Perkins) Johnson, was born near Cornell, Nebraska on March 21, 1920, and died at Memorial Hospital in Aurora, Nebraska on February 27, 2010, at the age of 89.

Darline taught country school, and worked for the post office in Trenton. She married Maurice Rath on October 7, 1943. They farmed near Eldorado and Harvard. Darline was a cook for the Harvard School for many years and worked at the local grocery store. She moved to Aurora in 2002 after the death of her husband.

Darline was a member of the Church of God. Her family was very important to her. She also enjoyed crocheting, beadwork, making quilts and afghans, and doing extensive genealogy research.

Ruby Darline was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother Ralph, and a sister Bernice of Wauneta, Nebraska, and her husband.

Those left to cherish her memory are a brother, Wayne (Mary) of Des Moines, Iowa; sons Clifford (Mary) of San Antonio, Texas; Bernard (Shirleen)of Savannah, Missouri; Gary (Kathy) of Aurora; daughter Vicki (Darrell Parker)of Veneta, Oregon; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and many other friends and relatives.
