Ross ReeveFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 7, 1988 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: Ross Reeve Clarence Ross Reeve, the son of John and Gertrude (Newton) Reeve, was born at Nelson, Nebraska, on April 30, 1918, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on October 3, 1988, at the age of 70 years, 5 months, and 3 days. He attended District #14 rural school and graduated from Nelson High School with the class of 1936. He continued with the family business of farming and operating a dairy, until he enlisted in the Air Force, October 29, 1942, and served his country during World War II, until February 25, 1946. He married Dorothy Rausher, June 18, 1943 at Kearney. After he returned from the service they farmed in Nuckolls County until 1960, when they moved to Aurora to operate a dairy farm until his retirement in 1983. He then spent many hours in his workshop making crafts, which he loved sharing with family and friends. Ross was a member of the Methodist Church for 60 years and served it in many ways, until ill health no longer permitted him to do so. Having a quiet disposition he never wanted a prominent position but was a backstage hand who kept the production going. He dedicated his entire life to family, farming and his church. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Kathryn Noramczyk and Marcella Reeve. He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Aurora; 3 sons, Larry and his wife Kathy of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Dennis and wife Pat of Stevens Point, Wisconsin and Duane of Kimmel, Indiana. 2 brothers, Russell and Clem of Nelson; and four grandchildren, Lori, Michael, Lance and Charlie, who he adored, also many other relatives and friends. |
