Marjorie RegierFuneral Services were held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 2, 1996, at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Interment was held in the Aurora Cemetery. OBITUARY: “Marge” Regier Marjorie Ellen Regier, the daughter of Ben and Alice (Sloan) Wischmeier, was born at Burchard, Nebraska, on March 8, 1921, and died at Aurora, Nebraska, on June 28, 1996, at the age of 75 years, 3 months, and 20 days. She attended school at Lewiston, and graduated from Lewiston High School with the class of 1938. She then attended Peru State Teachers College, received her 2 year teaching certificate, and began teaching for 5 years in Cook, Hebron and Bradshaw. On January 2, 1944, she was united in marriage to Theodore Regier at Lewiston, and she became a homemaker. They started farming north of Henderson, and in 1953, moved to a farm southeast of Aurora, in 1961, the moved into their present home on the farm. “Marge” was a very active member of the Aurora Evangelical United Brethren Church, and at the time of her death belonged to the Aurora United Methodist Church. She served as District Treasurer of the United Methodist Women for 8 years, and visited 50 churches in the district once a year. She was also a long time member of the Order of Eastern Star, and had received her 50 year pin in 1995. When her daughters were growing up, she was active in 4-H. She and Ted traveled extensively in later years, and “Marge” enjoyed meeting new friends at the RV parks during their travels. Those who remain to cherish her memory are her husband “Ted” of Aurora; 2 daughters, Marjean Harshbarger of Newton, Kansas, and Joyce Stanway of Hotchkiss, Colorado; one brother Dawson Wischmeier of Burchard; and 2 grandsons, Jeff and Ben Harshbarger. |
