Tena Regier

Tena Regier, age 95, of Aurora, died Monday, May 14, 2007, at Hamilton Manor in Aurora.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, May 17th at the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora. Rev. Rick Prettyman will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 P.M. on Wednesday at Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: TENA REGIER

Tena Regier, the daughter of Frank J. and Agnes (Kornelson) Martens, was born in Henderson, Nebraska on June 15, 1911 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on May 14, 2007, at the age of 95.

Tena grew up in Henderson and Collinsville, Oklahoma. She attended school through the 8th grade. Tena helped on the farm as a young girl.

Tena was married to Jacob H. Regier on February 21, 1932 at the Mennonite Brethren Church at Henderson. They lived and farmed in York and Hamilton Counties at various times during their marriage. In 1940, due to the drought in the 1930’s they sold out their farming operation to move to California. They returned back to Nebraska several years later, where they returned to farming. Jacob passed away on September 20, 2002.

Tena was a member of the Pleasant View Bible Church in Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Helen Quiring and Mary Warkentin.

Those who remain to cherish her memory are her three sons, Ken (LaVera) Regier of Aurora, Dr. Eugene (Carol) Regier of Canton, South Dakota and Dale (Theresa) Regier of Hampton; daughter, Gladys (Al) Ediger of Aurora; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and a brother, John F. Martens of Henderson.
