Dwayne RehrsFuneral Services were held 10:30 A.M., Monday, July 30, 1990 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hampton. Interment was held in the Salem (Troester) Cemetery southwest of Hampton. OBITUARY: Dwayne “Bud” Rehrs Dwayne “Bud” Roger Rehrs, the son of Herbert and Edna (Stettner) Rehrs, was born at Hampton, Nebraska, on January 24, 1930, and passed away at Aurora, Nebraska, on July 27, 1990, at the age of 60 years, 6 months, and 3 days. He was raised at Hampton and graduated from Hampton High School. After graduation he helped LaRue’s father farm until he entered the United States Marines. He served his country during the Korean Conflict from April 4, 1952, until April 3, 1954. After his discharge, he farmed for 6 ˝ years, and then began working for Hampton Gas & Oil, now known as United Co-op, for 26 ˝ years. For the past 3 years he drove a Hampton School Bus. On June 3, 1951, he was united in marriage to LaRue Jean Troester at Hampton. “Bud” was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, and held several church offices. He also belonged to the Hampton Post of the American Legion #141. He was preceded in death by his father, an infant brother, Dallas Rehrs; his father-in-law Gustav Troester and his grandparents, Theo and Ida (Hankel) Rehrs. Those who remain to cherish his memory are his wife Larue of Hampton; 2 sons, Greg and his wife Geri and Murray and his wife Donna, both of Hampton; a daughter, Myra and her husband Ryan Schardt of Byron, Nebraska; 6 grandchildren, Erin, Jodi, Sarah and Jeffrey Rehrs, and Stacey and Justin Schardt; a brother, Gary Rehrs of Verdon; 2 sisters, Mrs. Herb (Jean) Peters of Hampton and Colleen Nouzovsky, of Waddell, Arizona; his mother Edna Rehrs of Hampton, and his mother-in-law Gertrude Troester of Aurora. |
