Ida Reichardt

Ida Reichardt, age 96, died Friday, January 15, 2010, at the Hamilton Manor.

Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, January 18th at the Aurora Cemetery. Rev. Merwyn Davidson will officiate. No Visitation. Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be e-mailed to the family through the mortuary website at www.higbymortuary.com.

OBITUARY: IDA REICHARDT

Ida Mae Reichardt, the daughter of Homer Felix and Ida Janette (Miller) Reichardt, was born at home in Hamilton County, Nebraska on September 3, 1913 and died in Aurora, Nebraska on January 15, 2010, at the age of 96.

Ida grew up northeast of Aurora and graduated from Aurora High School in 1931. She went on to graduate from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois in the 1940’s. Ida worked as a nurse in Chicago, Minneapolis, Omaha and Lincoln. While working in Lincoln, Ida graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University.

Ida was a member of the United Methodist Church, the American Nurses Association and a daughter of the Union Veterans of the Civil War as a granddaughter.

She was a past member of the Lancaster County Women’s Chorus. Ida enjoyed traveling, reading and her nursing work.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mable Pearson, Anna Carnes and Ruth Gundy and brother, Russel Reichardt.

Those left to cherish her memory are her 12 nieces and nephews.
