Leona ReinmillerLeona Reinmiller, age 87, of Aurora died Saturday afternoon, May 13, 2000 at Memorial Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aurora. Fr. John Keefe will officiate. Interment will be in the Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Higby Mortuary. OBITUARY: LEONA REINMILLER Leona Marie Reinmiller, the daughter of Phillip and Margaret (Noel) Geiger was born in Overton, Nebraska on March 25, 1913, and died in Aurora, Nebraska, on May 13, 2000, at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 18 days. She grew up in Dawson County and graduated from Lexington High School in 1931. Leona attended the University of Nebraska and graduated with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She worked as a Farm Security Home supervisor for 4 years, working out of Loup City and North Platte. Leona was united in marriage to Bernard Reinmiller on September 2, 1939 at Elmcreek, Nebraska. They lived in Aurora all the time except for 6 months they lived in Red Cloud, Nebraska. Leona taught Home Economics in Phillips for 10 years and in Aurora for 3 years. Leona started the first Special Education class in Aurora. She was a member of St. Mary’s Church and Altar Society and the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Leona was a regular volunteer at the Plainsman Museum since its opening. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bernard, son John, four sisters and two brothers. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Jeanne Johnson and her husband Gary of Port Angeles, Washington and Mary Davis of Anchorage Alaska; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Geiger of Lexington. |
